Custom Framing at Huntingdon Gallery

Standard Custom Framing - What is it?

We start with a double mat, 3" to 3½" wide with a ¼" reveal between the top and bottom mats. The top mat is usually a neutral color complimenting a secondary color in the image and the bottom mat is a color complementing a primary color of the image. Both mats are conservation quality, museum or pH buffered.

The frame is a quality imported or domestic moulding - no polystyrene or fiber board. We use material of lasting quality!

As a glazing, we use UV glass. The back is covered with a dust cover and a wall buddy hanging system.

Deluxe Custom Conservation Framing - What is it?

We start with a double mat 3" to 3½" wide. The top mat is a neutral color to complement a secondary color in the image. This mat is high quality suede or linen. Separating the top mat and the bottom is a fillet. A fillet is a narrow wood moulding that will coordinate with the chosen frame. The bottom mat is conservation quality in a color complementary to the primary color in the image.

Framing for Canvas

The sale of framed canvas is our specialty. We combine the finest mouldings with a variety of liners. Liners are available in many colors, materials and styles. We protect all canvas artwork from the frame by applying a barrier tape to shield the art from naturally occuring chemicals in the wood frame.
